Even though the output plug has 8 terminals on it, there are only 6 outputs. Each RPM output can be controlled to be a power or ground output or even a floating output. The 6 switches normally control the 6 outputs of an RPM (Remote Power Module). A second switch pack simply plugs into the first. The switch packs are connected in series if you have more than one. When controlling the air solenoids, a second switch pack is installed so that you still have 6 inputs for the RPM. The switch pack can also be used to control the air operated relays for things like diff lock, suspension dump etc. It is not a power in / power out type of switch system. It simply needs power, ground and datalink wiring. The switch pack is electronically controlled through a J1939 circuit.
